Saturday, 02/27/10 (10: 00 a.m.) 34th Annual Spring Thaw (Allison Park, PA). Races of 10, 15, and 20 miles are staged from The North Park Rose Barn and consist of 5-mile loops around a lake. The entry fees vary, depending upon the race entered and the date of application submission. All runners will be scored for the 10-mile event, with the top 3 males and females overall and in age division will receive awards. Also, the top male and female masters of the 10 and 20-mile races and the top 3 overall male and female 20-mile finishers will be rewarded. Pre-registrants (02/15/10) will receive long sleeve tech shirts. 15-mile finishers will receive a pair of gloves, and 20-mile finishers will receive an embroidered hat and gloves. Sunday, 04/18/10 2010 Union Hospital Run For Home Half-Marathon, 3-Person Team Relay, & Fun Run (New Philadelphia, OH). The course starts and ends at Tuscora Park. The registration fee for the half-marathon is $30 until 03/15/10 ($50), and the relay fee is $75 until 03/15/10 ($100). The 5-mile walk and the Fun Run have fees of $20 and $10 respectively until 03/15/10 ($25 & $12 respectively). There is no fee for the Kids’ Run. Faith in Action Caregivers Triathlon and
Duathlon 2010 (Wheeling, WV). The Triathlon begins with a
400-meter swim in an indoor pool. The 2nd leg is a 25K bike ride on city and
country roads. The final leg is a 5K run on level, shaded cross-country
trail. The race begins at 7:30 a.m. with the first wave of the swim event.
Wet suits are permitted in the pool. Waves begin every 12 minutes with the
slowest estimated overall time in the first wave. Wave assignments cannot be
changed race day. The duathlon begins at 7:45 a.m. with a 3K run on
city streets and through the Wheeling Jesuit University campus. The 2nd leg
is a 25K bike ride on city and country roads. Final leg is a 5K run on a
level, shaded cross-country trail. Both events finish with a partial track
lap to the finish line in front of the stadium bleachers. Prizes for both
events are awarded to the top three overall finishers in each race by
gender. The top three finishers in all competition categories will receive
trophies. All athletes who complete the race will receive a medal. The age
group of a participant will be determined by the age on December 31, 2010
and not by age on race day.
Regarding team competition, one team member completes each leg of the race.
Relay teams can consist of two or three individuals. A registration must be
received for each member of the team.
Athletes who are not members of USAT must pay a $10 fee to cover one-day
membership. This is built into the registration fee. Please note that this
is membership for the day of the race only.
Register 10 or more members from one faith community, club, business, family
or other organizational group at the same time and receive a $5 per person
(or $10 per team) discount when registrations are submitted together. Group
registrations can be for either the triathlon or duathlon or a combination
and apply to either individual registrations, relay teams or a combination.
Race fees start at $30, with online registration
available via
www.active.com. The registration deadline is 07/07/10 @ 2:00 p.m. To

Starting at 7:30am is the 1/2 Marathon Trail Run, the cheapest 1/2 marathon we know of. At 8:00am the 5 Mile Trail Challenge Walk on the main hiking trail begins. 8:30am is the 10K State Championship Trail Run and at 9:00am the 5K walk on the road and for the kids at 10:30am the Mini Steeplechase on the Beach.
