OVRWC Meeting - Tuesday, February 2, 2010 – 7:00 pm
Members present – 18
President, Dennis Delbert welcomed the club members. He
spoke to the members regarding the Ogden 20K and the OVRWC interest/concern. He
tried to make contact with race director, Bob Scatterday. Bob did not return
his call as of yet. Dennis will again make contact.
- Dennis Delbert continued the meeting in regards to the
meeting schedule for 2010. Speakers will be present at meetings during the
months of Feb., April, July & Sept. The members of the club had discussed
the need of “getting back to the basic of walking/running.”
- Diane McCracken spoke of a new club race that will be
held on Saturday, March 20th, 9:00 am start, Yorkville, OH. The
Spring 5K Race for a Cure, will be a 5K run/walk, flat, fast, out & back
course. The start will be at South Elementary School, located at 209 Market
St. The pre & post race activities will be held in the school cafeteria.
T-Shirt guarantee is to the first 50 participants. Applications are

- Denny Stephan spoke about the RRCA website. They are
reorganizing the site and a few “bugs” are stilled needed to repair the
site.
- Dennis Delbert continued by introducing the speaker of
the evening, Michael Jebia, Wheeling Park High School, Teacher, Cross
Country and Basketball Coach. Michael spoke to the club regarding the
fundamentals of training a young athletic. A question & answer session was
held.
Dennis Delbert commented that at
the next speaker meeting, a panel of runners would be available to discuss the
basic concerns of a runner/walker. Those attending the meeting will have the
opportunity to ask questions of the panel. Anyone interested in the sport, now
it the time to “get started on the right foot “, and attend the next meeting.
