Board of Directors Meeting - Tuesday, January 13, 2009 – 7:00 pm

Present - Dennis Delbert, President, Denny Stephan, 2nd. VP, Diane Basich, Secretary, Marti Stephan, Treasurer, John Bartsch, Quality Assurance, Angela Zambito, Membership, Bill Freyler, Communications, Wayne McCracken, Member at Large, Tonya Mangerie, Publicity and Mike Hudimac, Awards Coordinator

• The Board discussed the following issues:

• Race Timing System
• Race Director Agreement
• Club Social/Fundraiser

After a discussion regarding the above issues, the following action will be taken.

                       Timing System –

Denny Stephan presented the timing system to the board.  The Summit Racing System would consist of 2 timers, bar code reader, laptop, printer and excel program spreadsheet.  The estimated cost would be $2,500.00

After board discussion, consent was given to purchase the system.

The club will work with George Frasier and his group in timing club and other sponsored races.

Race Director Agreement -

Marti Stephan will email a copy of the current (draft) copy of the agreement to the board.  Board members were asked to review and email suggestions to further create the Race Director Agreement.  The board plans to implement the agreement at the start of the 2009 racing season.

      Club Fundraiser/Social –

Dennis spoke to the club about bringing back the Steak Fry  the club sponsored a few years ago.  It was also suggested, by Angela Zambito, for the club to sponsor a “Pasta Night” prior to the Odgen 20K.  Denny Stephan will contact Bob Scatterday, race director. This would be a great way to advertise the runners’ club, as will as a possible fundraiser.

Angela Zambito, membership, spoke to the club regarding a club video.  With the help of Ted Roush, a quality video could help advertise the OVRWC.  Discussion was tabled to a further board meeting.
