Board of Directors Meeting - Tuesday, June 2, 2009 – 5:30 pm
Present - Dennis Delbert, President, Tom Rownd, 1st. VP, Denny Stephan, 2nd. VP, Diane Basich, Secretary, Marti Stephan, Treasurer, John Bartsch, Quality Assurance, Bill Freyler, Communications, Wayne McCracken, Member at Large, Rod Miller, Member at Large, Tonya Mangerie, Publicity and Mike Hudimac, Awards Coordinator
After a discussion regarding the above issues, the following action will be taken for club discussion.
Race Director Agreement -
Marti Stephan read to the club the response from the RRCA. The club is in the guidelines of RRCA, however, there is still a need for the club to get more involved in the upcoming Freedom Race and the Turkey Trot.
Marti spoke to the club regarding the need of a business tax form that is available online. The cost would have to be paid by credit card. The board gave consent to reimburse Marti for the expense.
Marti also spoke to the club regarding the upcoming CD renewals. The board suggested to just renew when due.
She also spoke regarding the newsletter. Some changes are being made during the printing process. Marti will speak to Maureen Zambito, newsletter editor, of the board concerns.
Timing System –
Denny Stephan commented about the timing system and is working to correct the problem that was experienced at the Wheeling Catholic Charities Run for Hope Race.
The club will continue to work with George Fraizer and his group in timing races for the remaining 2009 racing season.
Ogden 20K –
Dennis thanked all who volunteered at the Friday Night activities. With some discussion, the board would like to get more involved in the organization of the Friday night events. Dennis also spoke about the 5K Run/Walk that was held. There were many complaints from walker
participants. The hope is to speak to Bob Scatterday, race director, of the club concerns.
Club Picnic –
A club picnic will be held on Tuesday, August 4th, 6:00 pm, at Wheeling Park. Shelter location to be announced at the July club meeting. Those attending are asked to bring a covered dish. The club will provide the meat items, grill supplies, paper products and drinks. Wayne McCracken will supply the grill supplies. Tonya Mangerie will check into the purchase of the meat items. Everyone is welcome to attend.
